Terms of Service

The honest version of our quality boundaries lives here in plain English (§1), along with the usual legal terms. Short version: flat-color graphics are designed for cut-ready output, photos come out stylized, and you always test-cut before production.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of cleanpaths.io (the "Service"), operated by Gang Wang (individual, operating as CleanPaths) ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. What the Service is (and isn't)

CleanPaths converts images (PNG, JPG, SVG, screenshots) into DXF/SVG files, entirely in your browser. Please understand our honest quality boundaries:

  • Flat-color graphics (logos, icons, screenshots, line art) → designed to produce cut-ready output.
  • Photographs → produce a stylized result, not cut-ready. The interface will tell you this; please believe it.
  • Embroidery: we do not generate PES or other finished embroidery files automatically. We offer preparation assistance and, where relevant, referral to human digitizing services. Fully automatic "image → embroidery" conversion is not something this Service claims to do.

2. No accounts

The Service requires no registration. Free tier usage is subject to a daily limit (currently 10 conversions/day), enforced by rate limiting as described in our Privacy Policy. Don't try to circumvent it — that's what Pro is for.

3. Your content — you own it, and it stays with you

  • Your files are processed locally in your browser and are never transmitted to us (see Privacy Policy §2). Because we never receive your files, we make no claim over them and can make none.
  • You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to any image you convert. Converting an image containing third-party copyrighted material (e.g., someone else's logo) does not grant you rights to that material. You are solely responsible for how you use the output.
  • Output ownership: the converted files you generate from your own images are yours, for personal and commercial use, no attribution required.
  • Voluntary submissions (v1.1, "Show Your Work" / testimonials): if you choose to submit photos or feedback for display on the site, you grant us a non-exclusive, revocable license to display that content on cleanpaths.io, per the consent process in Privacy Policy §6. You can withdraw at any time.

4. Pro license (paid)

  • Pro is sold as a one-time purchase (currently Pro Core $59, optional add-on packs $29 each) and an optional Monthly Pass ($10/month). See Pricing and our Refund Policy.
  • Purchases are processed by our Merchant of Record Creem, which is the seller of record for tax purposes.
  • Delivery is by license key emailed to you. A license key is for one user; it may be activated on your own devices and requires a one-time online activation. After activation, Pro works offline — that's part of what "one-time purchase" means.
  • Don't share, resell, or publish your license key. We may revoke keys that are abused (after refund where required by law).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for anything unlawful; (b) convert or distribute content that infringes others' intellectual property, or that is defamatory, discriminatory, or exploitative (including any sexual content involving minors — prohibited absolutely); (c) abuse the free tier (scraping, automated bulk use, circumventing rate limits); (d) misrepresent the Service or its output.

6. Production-use disclaimer — read this before you cut

Converted files are digital inputs for physical production (cutting, engraving, machining). Always verify the output in your machine's software (e.g., Cricut Design Space, LightBurn) and run a test cut before production use. We are not liable for wasted material, machine damage, failed client orders, or injuries arising from files produced by the Service. You are the operator; the final check is yours.

7. Affiliate disclosure (FTC)

Some pages (e.g., embroidery-related content) contain referral links to third-party human digitizing services, from which we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We disclose this because the U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires it (16 CFR Part 255) and because we'd want to know. Referral relationships are marked on the page where they appear. We only refer services we believe are relevant; we do not control and are not responsible for third-party services' quality, pricing, or conduct.

8. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

Because your files never leave your browser, we do not host user content in the normal course. If content we do display (e.g., a voluntary user submission) infringes your copyright, send a notice with the information required by 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3) to [email protected] or China (full mailing address available on request to [email protected]), and we will respond expeditiously, including removing or disabling access to the material where appropriate.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every output file will be suitable for your specific machine, material, or project.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR US$50 IF YOU PAID NOTHING). WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, WASTED MATERIALS, OR MACHINE DAMAGE.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of (a) content you convert or submit in violation of these Terms, or (b) your use of output files, including production use.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of the People's Republic of China unless applicable consumer law gives you a mandatory local forum.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be noted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means acceptance. This page is part of our copy-freeze set.
